SUMMARY:Solar & Storage Finance USA
DESCRIPTION:Solar remains the fastest-growing renewable source in the United States fueled by favorable tax credits available through the $369 billion Inflation Reduction Act. Planned solar projects are forecasted to surge by 38%* in 2024 bringing total US PV capacity to 131 GW by the end of the year. \nFollowing in step with U.S. PV capacity\, U.S. battery storage capacity could double by the end of 2024. Planned and operational U.S. utility-scale BESS capacity combined totalled 16GW** at the close of 2023. Developers are expected to add 15 GW to this total by the end of this year.\nGrowth in U.S. battery storage will continue as asset owners seek to shield themselves from variable solar generation by capturing otherwise curtailed power and leveraging energy arbitrage. \nSo\, what does this all mean? 2024 promises to be a growth year for the deployment\, financing\, and investment of both U.S. solar and storage. \nReturning for its 11th edition\, Solar and Storage Finance USA Summit remains the annual event where decision-makers at the forefront of solar and storage projects across the United States and capital converge. Featuring the most active solar and storage transactors\, join us for a packed two-days of deal-making\, learning and networking. \n  \n*U.S. Energy Information Administration\, Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO)\, January 2024 \n**U.S. Energy Information Administration\, Preliminary Monthly Electric Generator Inventory\, January 2024

SUMMARY:Tax Credits & Transferability 2024: Optimizing Post-IRA Opportunities
DESCRIPTION:Two years ago\, the IRA created a revolutionary new regime to provide tax credits for an expanded range of clean energy investments\, using tax credit sales to expand the pool of potential investors to include corporations that hitherto had little if any experience in the energy sector\, but also introducing a series of adders that could substantially decrease capital costs. While this clearly represented\, and represents\, a golden opportunity to mobilize funding for a huge number of clean energy projects\, it set market participants the task of discovering exactly how to structure financings that could monetize depreciation\, capitalize on step-ups in FMV (fair market value)\, and protect participants when claiming new incentives—all necessary to utilize the full range of capital now available from both traditional tax equity and corporate tax credit buyers. \nToday\, however\, the market is field-testing a series of structures and tools to optimize the financing of a wide variety of projects using the full range of tax credits. What lessons are being learned in newly closed T-flip and transfer deals? How are players dealing with the risks of claiming domestic content\, prevailing wage and apprenticeship (PWA)\, and energy community incentives? If you want to take full advantage of the remarkable techniques now available to finance traditional solar and wind projects\, as well as storage\, CCS\, RNG\, manufacturing\, hydrogen\, and other new technology projects\, you need to fully understand tax equity market conditions and the new structures coming to the fore. \nInfocast\, in organizing Tax Credits & Transferability 2024: Optimizing Post-IRA Opportunities\, has brought together the markets’ leading practitioners\, sponsors\, and investors to get attendees 100% up to speed on today’s most important issues in this exceedingly dynamic space. You will get critical insights on the development of the transfer market\, how to best meet and document compliance with new domestic content\, PWA\, and energy community requirements\, and the ins and outs of tapping into funding through 45Q\, 45V\, 45X\, and 45Z credits\, and more. \nNo other event can provide you with the type of deep dive — guided by active market players — that you will find here into the following essential topics: \n\nEmerging Structures for Post-IRA Tax Equity and Transferability Transactions—Traditional\, T-Flip\, and Transfer Deals\nBuilding Tax Credit Transferability Deal Flow—Roles of Banks\, Brokers\, Platforms\, and Other Players\nNegotiating Post-IRA Deals Incorporating Tax Equity—Strategies for New Risk Allocation and Assignment Concerns\nMethods of Incorporating Depreciation\, Step-ups\, and Other Financial Issues in T-Flip Structures\nOptimizing the Tax Benefits and the Capital Stack: What Are We Seeing in Hybrid/T-Flip and Transferability Transactions?\nTax Credit Buyers’ Perspectives on Renewable Energy Tax Equity Deals\nInsurer Perspectives on Mitigating and Indemnifying Risks in Tax Credit Transfer Deals—Where Is the Market Headed?\nDeveloper and Project Sponsor Perspectives on Making Tax Equity and Transfer Deals

SUMMARY:Midcontinent Clean Energy
DESCRIPTION:The MISO region has become a dynamic area for renewable development and other decarbonization activities. Driven by a slate of utility and public power RFPs\, state and local clean energy goals\, new legislation easing siting constraints\, and the eagerness of both C&I and residential consumers for renewable energy\, renewable development across MISO has also been turbocharged by the new IRA incentives in the region\, which is well-supplied with energy communities and other adder-eligible sites. \nHowever\, taking maximum advantage of these significant opportunities requires a thorough grasp of MISO specific challenges. Without a deep understanding of MISO’s unique interconnection processes and procedures\, getting through the queue can be both lengthy and costly\, and subject to many uncertainties. Transmission expansion and upgrades in the region are vital to many projects\, but acquiring the most up-to-date information on evolving topics such as where new lines will be built\, when\, and how the costs incurred will be shared\, remains essential. While the IRA has made aspects of project financings in the region easier\, detailed knowledge of how the new tax credits and adders are impacting today’s financings and project valuations\, as well as understanding the current state of the tax equity/transfer markets\, is critical for optimizing project development and finance. Learning industry best practices for coping with supply constraints and long wait times can make the difference in keeping a project on schedule or even feasible. Moreover\, keeping up with today’s advances in community engagement can allow projects to move forward against the tide of anti-renewable misinformation\, which is widespread across the region. \nTo provide the kind of deep dive you won’t find anywhere else into the special opportunities of MISO renewable development\, the region’s particular challenges and the solutions being crafted by active professionals to meet them\, Infocast is bringing together a remarkable group of policymakers\, leading developers and financiers\, technical experts\, C&I customers and utility executives. They will provide their collective insights into the special issues and practices around the development and finance of utility scale wind and solar\, storage\, community solar\, decarbonization and other projects in a specifically MISO context. There is no other event that will provide this type of focus and relevant expertise for this region. Please review our detailed agenda and reserve your place today!

SUMMARY:Renewable Energy Revenues Summit USA
DESCRIPTION:Q4 2023 showed a 4.5 GW increase in corporate PPAs. As for previous quarters\, much (2.8 GW) of this activity circled around the technology and telecoms space with small scale C&I (852 MW) and large industrials (457 MW) making up significant chunks of this growth. This was driven by high power prices and soaring costs elsewhere prompting corporates to seek out certainty. \nPPA prices are set to come down and this will force competition amongst generators\, vying to win business and add value to the bottom line. \nTo bring buyers and sellers of power together\, the Renewable Energy Revenues Summit USA will cover strategies to optimize renewable energy trading\, procurement\, and offtake structures across U.S. markets. \nBy participating in the event\, you can help facilitate transactions involving large volumes of clean\, green power across the U.S.\, making renewable energy trading more rewarding and less risky for all parties involved.

SUMMARY:Mountain West Renewables Summit
DESCRIPTION:Opportunities for clean energy continue to grow at an exponential rate across the Mountain West. Spurred by the incentives created by the Inflation Reduction Act and the Infrastructure Investment Act\, utilities\, local and state governments\, and LSEs and corporates from Montana to Arizona and from Idaho to New Mexico are procuring ever increasing amounts of renewables and energy storage to ensure they meet climate and decarbonizations goals–including growing EV charging load–as well as ambitious renewable portfolio standard targets. \nTo seize these opportunities\, however\, players must deal with the interconnection and transmission bottlenecks caused by changing resources and customer demand across the West\, handle continuing supply chain volatility\, re-orient their procurement strategies to take advantage of new domestic manufacturing resources and qualify for related tax incentives\, as well as cope with the resulting cost and schedule uncertainty in order to get their storage and solar projects financed across the region. Moreover\, progress towards the development of more formally organized western electricity markets continues and every player in Western power markets needs to understand the business and operational impacts of new initiatives including SPP’s Western Energy Imbalance Service (WEIS) and Markets+\, CAISO’s EDAM and Western Energy Imbalance Market (WEIM)\, and the possible development of a Western RTO\, however designed and administered. \nOnly those who can keep up with all these developments and learn the innovations being put in place to manage these hurdles will be able to take full advantage of the burgeoning opportunities in this dynamic\, eight-state region. \nInfocast’s Mountain West Renewables Summit is organized to let you hear directly from the region’s leading energy decision makers. Leading local experts from utilities\, local governments\, LSE’s and policy makers come together with the regions’ renewable development and finance communities to network and exchange the latest market intelligence on the state and future of the Mountain West energy markets and discuss their needs\, challenges\, and the initiatives they have underway in light of the tailwinds for the renewables industries provided by the Inflation Reduction Act and the preceding Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. This remarkable Summit will provide the perfect venue to take advantage of the vast opportunities for renewable energy procurement\, development\, and deployment in the Mountain West and move the market forward.

SUMMARY:Solar & Storage Finance USA
DESCRIPTION:2023 is set to be a defining year for solar\, storage and Solar Media’s 10th edition finance summit. \nLast year saw the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) which brings together an estimated $370 billion in federal funding over the next ten years to facilitate clean energy transition in the US. The IRA has immediately impacted the long-term outlook of the solar and storage industry. \nFunding remains available for large-scale energy infrastructure drawn from the Department of Energy’s $40 billion loans program. In addition\, the IRA is estimated to attract $600 billion in new investment resulting in an additional 222GW of solar installations over the next decade. This is enough to power an additional 165 million US homes. \nThe picture is similar for storage as the U.S. government has increased investment tax credits to 30% for energy standalone systems. Estimates indicate a further 20.8 GW of utility-scale battery storage will become operational by 2025. To date\, 10 states have energy storage specific procurement targets with that list set to grow. The host state of this year’s summit\, New York\, is expected to incentivize an additional 5GW of residential\, commercial\, and utility-scale storage onto the grid. \nChallenges remain as the sector continues to decode the updated tax credit structures\, navigate the hurdles of the current inflationary environment and keep projects to schedule.

SUMMARY:Tax Incentives 2023: Optimizing Post-IRA Opportunities
DESCRIPTION:The enactment of the IRA radically expands the range of projects able to seek tax equity\, traditionally fundamental to the financing of clean energy projects. The potential to layer adders for energy and low-income communities\, local content\, and other factors to significantly boost returns has made structuring projects even more critical in today’s booming development market. With traditional wind and solar projects now competing with storage\, CCUS\, hydrogen and other projects for tax equity investment\, only those who are fully informed on the latest changes in tax policies\, incentives\, supply chain requirements and tax equity market conditions will be able to take full advantage of the remarkable clean energy opportunities fostered by the IRA and other recent legislation. \nTax Incentives 2023: Optimizing Post-IRA Opportunities will bring attendees 100% up to speed on today’s most important issues\, providing detailed explanations of the solutions being utilized in today’s most advanced clean energy projects. On top of presenting a detailed report on policy innovations and current market conditions\, our expert faculty will walk through the seemingly three-dimensional chess game involved in structuring projects to take advantage of multiple available adders while avoiding potential risks and hidden costs\, as well as how to best meet and document new wage\, apprenticeship and domestic equipment requirements. Leading tax advisors and tax equity providers will also provide insights on the development of the transfer market\, when to take the direct payment option\, as well as the ins and outs of tapping into funding through expanded 45Q\, 45V and 45Z Sections.
